GREEN Facts

There are multiple factors that go into a product being green besides just its basic ingredients. Yes, of course one of the main concerns when choosing the right "GREEN" product for you is what ingredients it contains and if they are:

sustainable/renewable
biodegradable
safe for humans, animals, ect.

Then, there are other factors that other people just don't think about but also play a key role in making a product "GREEN". Most of these factors deal with how "GREEN" a company is in there day to day business.

Are there ingredients from local distributors or do they get things shipped cross country?
Do they use renuable energies such as vegetable starch and sugar cane as opposed to plastic and tree paper?
Do they use energy efficient equipment?
Do they recycle their garbage or just dump it in one large dumpster?
Do they use recycled goods in their offices such as recyled paper?
Is their packaging recyclable?

Right now there are no exact guidelines as to what makes a product "GREEN" but the more you examin it's origin the closer you will get to the actual "GREEN-NESS" of the product itself.#
